Tesco is absolutely delighted that employees are getting the shift in store

228 happy couples have come together in the supermarket’s Irish stores.

GETTING THE SHIFT on your shift?

Tesco’s totally fine with that.

In fact, the powers that be want you to shout it from the rooftops.

An official press release from the supermarket chain reveals that over 450 colleagues have fallen for each other while working in its Irish stores.

A grand total of 228 couples have come together over the past few years,  with some already married and others still in the honeymoon stages.

Dublin’s workers seem to have the most luck, with 42 couples finding love in stores across the capital. Waterford comes second with 29 matches, while Mayo takes third with 20.

Don’t worry if you’ve yet to find love on the aisles though. Matchmaker Willie Daly’s got some words of wisdom for you.

If there is someone in your dreams don’t be afraid to open your arms and tell them that you love them.

Thanks for that Willie, sure every little helps.
